The group is hosted by business owner Susan Riedl LPC, LCMHC, ATR a registered art therapist, and will be co -lead by Katie Lueders. Katie is a bereaved sibling and has been involved with the grief support group for families, The Compassionate Friends, since 2016. She served as the Newsletter Editor for TCF of Santa Cruz, CA, and co-facilitated their sibling group. Katie led grief-writing workshops for the chapter and also for the (virtual) TCF National Conference, in 2021. She has also facilitated writing workshops for an open-mic poetry community in Santa Cruz, CA, and some creative writing workshops in MA.

is a youth initiative promoted by Capital Art Therapy LLC. The program encourages open dialogue with youth artists and passersby to alleviate the impact of anxiety on socialization, and promotes well-being through the expressive medium of street chalk art.
WHO This is an art enrichment program for youth ages 12-17. Individuals are invited to attend, or can apply to be one of the participants on a selected Saturday.
WHAT An art enrichment program, " Chalk and Talk” is an innovative youth engagement program that combines the therapeutic benefits of art making with the opportunity for young individuals to build confidence in social interactions. Taking place on a closed public street during the summer season of the Concord’s farmers market in NH, the program encourages youth to express themselves through vibrant chalk drawings.One of the distinctive features of "Chalk and Talk” is aimed at fostering creativity, community connections, and personal growth. Subject of the artwork is planned ahead of time and is intentionally selected and approved to be supportive of the vendors at the market, and combined with mental health awareness.
WHEN “Chalk & Talk” is scheduled to run every Saturday during the Concord's Farmers Market starting at 7:00 am to approx. 12 noon. The dates are as follows; May 4, 11, 18, 25 June 1,8,15,22,29 July 6,13,27 August 10,17,31 September 7,21,28 and October 5,12,19,26. *The dates are tentative due to weather (IE;rain), and participant interest. Weather in NH can be unpredictable.

HOW Images of the predetermined art work will be printed out for the participants. No previous chalk drawing experience is needed.
COST Free
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR Wearing layers is best. Bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, knee pads, or a kneeling gardening pad is strongly recommended. Chalk, and art materials are provided. Clothes are likely to get dirty, and the work is physical, but fun.
OTHER THINGS TO KNOW A Parent or Guardian must sign a waiver for the youth to participate, and that will also include permission to be photographed as this is a public event. Parents/Guardian must remain present during the event.

FREE in person social event. Join us for a fun filled night to make friends in a non judgmental environment. Games, music, art making, and lots of laughs. This gathering is designed for neurodivergent teens to connect with others the same age who may have anxiety when meeting new people or making friends. This is a face-to face in person event. Scheduled to be on some Thursday nights, with a rotating theme. Must register ahead due to limited seating of 10 people.

FREE. Healing Through Art: A Day of Grief Support for Adults. This group is being offered to provide a safe and supportive space for adult individuals (ages 18 +) to connect and heal from a recent loss. An experienced art therapist will guide participants through a variety of art experiences to help cope with their thoughts and feelings surrounding the recent loss. Support and empathy will be provided during discussions on self-care, healing, and renewal. All materials are provided. Light refreshments will be available. Please register ahead due to the nature of the meeting, and it being limited seating of 8 people to respect the comfort of those attending.
